August 2008 ADSL/Broadband problems

After having a line sync of around 4800 since May 2007 things changed the week beginning 16th August 2008.
My connection speed reduced to around 2112 with 1000's or error seconds, 10 of millions of FECs and 100,000's of CRC and HEC errors!

Freeola my ISP arranged for BT to carry out a line check but - 'no fault found'...

Coincidently my problems occurred as EDF Energy mole'd some large pipes under a local roundabout which is between me and the exchange. Photos below.

August ADSL problems:
Saturday 16th - low sync (2xxx) and millions of errors
Sunday 17th - normal sync (4800) and low errors
Mon - weds all fine
Thursday 21st - Saturday 23rd everything collapsed again internet connection virtually unusable (2112 sync with millions of errors).
Sunday 24th  sync'd at 4992 and back to only a handful of errors
